This DVD version is absolutely fantastic. I watch it all the time. Both Sally Hawkins and especially Rupert Percy Jones are wonderful in this production. I was caught up with Cpt. Wentworth's cold icy look which gradually turned softer as he realised his feelings for Anne were being revived. I especially loved when they meet in the shop during the rain, when he speaks of how a man cannot overcome such a passion to such a woman, he can barely look at her! The parts were played perfectly and although it differentiates from the book on many levels I adored every second of it. I loved the 1995 version but Cpt. Wentworth was not how I imagined - I much prefer the RPJ eye candy with his dulcet dones declaring his undying love for Anne Elliot.
5 Stars. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys heartfelt, delightful romance.
When I sat down to watch this movie, I had no real expectations as the last Hulk movie was very poor, however with the recent spate of excellent Marvel films I was keeping my fingers crossed. Firstly I must say this was a huge improvement from the movie a few years back. The CGI was a lot less obvious and the movie had a much fuller story. Nice cameo from Lou Ferrigno as the security guard and of course Stan Lee. Looked good on Blu Ray, however not as much for me as Iron Man. Major downside for me was Liv Tyler, just didn't find her at all convincing.... to girly, breathless and pouting for a top scientist. I have to admit that I have not had the same issues on the Blu ray as some of the others here. Summary is good movie, just not quite up there with Iron Man and the Dark Knight
This was a brilliant film. Totally fantastic. I cannot fault anything about it except.... that whilst the first half of the movie was action packed, funny, and sexy, the second half seemed to loose some of this excitement. It carried on being very good but I was much more on the ball with the first half. I cannot actually believe this was based on a true story. How amazing that they got so far and no one was any the wiser!
Many people know Alan for his appearances on Friday/Sunday Night Project or his Ding Dong, but for a long long time before he was a stand-up comedian and anyone whose watched him flourish will recognise how far he's come. Ok, so this has been out for a year now, but it is still one of the best stand-up DVD' out there. This DVD is great fun. One of my favourite parts is "I heard her fart... then I heard her blame it on me." This DVD will have you laughing out loud throughout.
Really good stuff!
It's my opinion that this is the best season of One Tree Hill. If you love the Nathan and Haley relationship you are going to love this one. BUY IT!
Good night Mister Tom my review
I would like to recommend, Goodnight Mister Tom because it's a very emotional story.
When I watched the DVD it was a thoroughly enjoyable and a good range of specialist language.
Based on the World War 2 time.
The charters are Tom, Willie, Zach, Sammy the dog, Mum and mrshartridge. Willie meets a boy called Zach but sadly Zach died because a Germans bomb. Willie's mum died because she drowned her, she was a mental women.
This DVD made you feel that you were there. Mister Tom helps Willie by buying him a book and pen. Willie was getting hit by his mum, for doing absolutely nothing.
My best part of the DVD was when Willie learned to ride a bike.

This is a brilliant film, up there with his "Pan's Labyrinth" and even better than "Devil's Backbone" which it in some ways resembles - a ghost story involving a children's home. A film about the fierce love between parent and child, which transcends death. I loved the bittersweet ending. It is not a horror film, so if you like horror movies, choose something else.
I am absolutely addicted to this version of Jane Eyre, having watched it another 4 times this last week alone! And I'm not ashamed to admit it either! It's perfect in every way and there's nothing left out of importance. O.K. it could have done with showing more of the young Jane at Lowood Institution, but it wasn't a necessity.
This tells the story of Jane Eyre, a poor, downtrodden girl who after becoming an orphan as a baby, is sent to live with her Aunt and Uncle and their children. The Uncle passes away and Jane is left to the cruelty of her Aunt and cousins. After 10 years of bad treatment, her Aunt sends her to Lowood School and turns her back on Jane. Jane stays at Lowood for eight years when she finally manages to escape by advertising for a job as Governess. Off she trots to Thornfield to care for and teach Adele.
The master of the house, (Mr Rochester), is always away from home, and very rarely stays more than a few days at a time. But this soon changes when he meets Jane. Their relationship blossoms but always in an unspoken way. Mr Rochester is a moody, brooding man and one can never tell what mood he'll be in from one day til the next. He harbours a dark secret, one which could ruin his relationship with Jane, as well as his many admirers and friends.
Toby Stephens and Ruth Wilson who play the leads are perfectly cast and you can really believe their love story is real. The chemistry is simply sizzling! The best scenes are when Rochester confesses his love for Jane under the tree and proposes, and when he is trying to get Jane to run away with him to his villa, and also when Jane finally goes back to him after being separated from him. Oh, who am I kidding, I love EVERY scene they're in together!
The rest of the cast are fantastic too. Adele is sweet as is Mrs Fairfax the house keeper. Miss Ingram and her mother are perfect too, they are pure nastiness and houghty with it. The sets are beautiful as are the costumes. It brought the book to life just as I had imagined it when I read it.
This is truly an amazing version and my 1983 copy with Timothy Dalton is now in second place! Do yourself a favour and buy it, especially if you have a loved one who adores romances. I will be getting many more pleasurable viewings out of my copy, that's for sure!
The legendary Monty Python films will forever be funny. The insults, the sayings and the pure stupidity of the characters of the 6 will forever have a place in comic history.
I agree with Potus. What makes OTH5 most interesting by far is the NAley story and Dan's second chance with Naley's son Jamie. That's why I kept watching tuning in weekly online, to see how the whole psycho nanny story would unwind. Don't want to give any soilers to anyone, so if you don't want to know anythign about season 6- pleade don't read on. But, the nany story continues, and we get the brilliant nanny debs back knocking out the psycho nanny, and then crazy/ forgiveable? Dan killing the psycho nanny in the end. But that episode had me on tentahooks! It was brilliant! A real Naley family dilemma. As for the rest of OTH- Skills is definietly not use enough- his storyline with debs is very interesting and funny- but could be developed more. I don't get why brook is in most episodes- especially since her character in season 5 is sooooo boring! Hence why she gets attacked in OTH6- to try and gain a bit of sympathy/empathy for her no doubt- but her doing the whole mother thing is really annying to watch- they should better leave the motehr story to Haley and Jamie- she does it so much better and the dilemmas feel a lot more real. As for Leyton- for all you Brucas fans- I mean come on- it just wasn't happening- as Schwan said- they were meant to be from the beginning- so I think what's interesting there is this new love guy of peytons in OTH- I mean come on- been there done that- just leave Leyton a lone. As for the whole I hate you saga in OTH5- pure comedy- it had me nearly in tears- that's how funny it was! OTH has been brill, but even I think it's time to rap it up- and I've been a fan since the beginning. I just don't want it to loose it's quality- in its aim for longevity, which we see happen to a lot of shows ( dear I mention Friends?). Anyhoo, the whole Quentin being shot wsa just for tv ratings- course it had me in tears, but I was really annoyed because it did not need to happen; which again reinforces the point that the writers are running out of fuel. It definitely did not have the excellent build up which the whole fake brother psycho stalker for Peyton in season 4- seriously those episodes were like Halloween- I thought that was excellent writting and TV! That's why I got the DVD. because E4 did not show the full extent of some of the thrilling episodes.
Conclusion: It's a real shame that I won't be buying this season and probably OTH6 as well, but I feel it's lost a lot of the originality and brilliance that seasons one to four have; and I own everyone of them. Finally, it only has 18 episodes, I mean I think they would reduce the price?! Episode to definitely watch though- the 100th- The end when evil Dan looks at all the main characters ( bar Debs) is brill! Now, if they sold that seperately then I definitely would but it! Also, ending is a let down, but watch episode 1 of season 6- because either way, you will love or hate it. Now that should have been the ending, because that was a cliff hanger!
