Now every now and again we get people saying what a great TV series they have seen and this was one of the ones I was asked to watch.

Now sceptical as I was to think that a drama about a Manchester Family and its neighbours on the Chatsworth Estate and their exploits could be enjoyable but how wrong I was. The Gallagher Family and its neighbours are a real joy. Each episode picks on one member of the family (with the others interwoven) and it goes from better to better. I will ask that you at least give it three episodes to get to know the family and when you do you will be hooked.

The basis of the family is Frank the father is a drop out of the first degree but is ever the philisopher, he spends his day drunk or stoned and often found behind the sofa or on the kitchen floor out of it. Everyone knows Frank and tries their hardest to avoid him as they usually end up being owed money. The mother of the family ran off to be a lesbian and is not seen until Series two and as you will see more of the family you will see why she did it HA HA HA. The kids are Fiona (18) the eldest sister and rock of the family who looks after them all as if hey are her own, Philip (16) but they call him Lip as he has the gift of the Gab, Ian (15) is the gay brother that no one knows is gay, Carl (12) who is allways rushing about and being generally a pain in the .... anyway he is a bit procupied with the other sex, Debbie (10) who is the schemer and probaby the fastest thinker of the family and does not see any wrong in Frank and finally Liam (6)who is basically a turbocharged kid who upsets all who come into contact with him. The family live next to Kevin Alan Ball and his girlfriend Veronica, Kevin works in the local pub called the "Jockey" and Veronica is a Stripagram and a Webcam porn actress who lets people watch as she irons topless..... I did say these were disfunctional didn't I .........

So all in all there are many others that come into the series but to name them all is just too much for me but suffice to say they have trades such as an Executive Car Thief, a school girl Lolita, a sex mad woman who wants
Frank badly, an arsonist, a Lesbian Landlord, a Local Gangland family that think going to football is kicking the living daylights out of someone who owes them money and finally a corner shop run by an Indian Family where the father is secretly gay and the mother is a Mancunion Islamic convert who is as hard as they come.

So all in all this is a family that you must see to believe and if you have seen them you will want to see more.

I hope this has wetted your appetite for the series and I for one tell most of my friends that this is the best series I have seen for sheer gritt and laughs that never stop coming. I hope you enjoy the series as much as I have.

i have watched this film about a hundred times but i don't get sick of it it's just amazing not to mention the main song is my favourate of all time (maybe because of this film??) Wind Beneth my winds needs no introduction everybody knows it and if you listen to the lyrics it basically tells you the story of beaches

it's about two girls who meet when they are just 11 years old and just instantly become the best of friends even though they are complete opposites CC is brassy and bubbly and Hilary is quiet and shy, i think this is what makes it more interesting and the ending always gets me

Verdict : absolute MUST SEE! buy this for your dvd collection and you won't be dissapointed

I suppose Im in the minority group who hated this film. Seriosly this is very dull and boring. Nothing seemed to happen in it whatsoever. As for Renee Zellwegger, you would have thought her to have been great in it after seeing her in Bridget Jones wouldnt you? Wrong. She does nothing for this film at all. She couldnt carry it through, her acting was all wierd. But I had to sit through and watch this rubbish with my family, who surprisingly all liked it and praised Renee Zellwegger for her fantastic performance. I was like what the hell are u talking about?? Anyway, I have since given this DVD away to my friend who liked it but then she loves Rene Zellewgger, so that kept her happy!

HBO easily makes my favorite American shows aprt from the west wing. The Wire being the best drama ever made and Curb you Enthusiasm easily my favorite American comedy. In fact its so far clear of those 2 and half..every one loves.. king of... well, nothing whatso ever, that nothing american is comparible to Curb. Even Seinfeld, which was co-created and written by Larry david falls a long way short of my affection for curb.
Its hard to review this without moronically gushing about how frickin good it is and wanting to scream "you simply have to watch this, its just simply brilliant". Yes, very hard indeed to keep that in.
However its not for everyone, if you watched Norbit and thought that was funny... 'Curbs' not for you.
If you like 2 pints of Larger and a packet of crap.... Again not for you
Curb makes you squirm! Ricky Gervais's Office uses the curb style squirm with great effect, but, as much as I loved the office, I'd always reach for a CYE dvd first.
Larry David plays himself, but he plays the side of himself that we all keep quiet. The Sociopath. He says the things we all keep in and elaborately gets himself in and sometimes out self created dilemmas. If you like intelligent, well written and beautifulled structured comedy, you owe it to yourself to give Curb a lot of time.. it is just simply the best comedy show ever.

I thought this film was brilliant. I loved it at the cinema and couldn't wait to buy it on DVD. Of course it helps that the gorgeous Dr McDreamy from Grey's Anatomy is in it! The chemistry between the two actors makes you believe in them. Go and buy this film if you love a chick flick!

Once again sony pictures have released another mess. they have mislabelled the set, rambo 3 is NOT 5.1, it is in fact the same disc that appeared in a previous set that i also own. first set i bought had a faulty rambo 2 disc so i took it back and now i find that the 3rd film is NOT what it is claimed to be. Be totally aware of what you are buying.
